Grades 4-12
Students draw visual cues to help differentiate between the words its and it’s. Then they listen to a sentence and choose the correct word to complete the sentence. This reinforces understanding of the sentence content while simultaneously giving learners a chance to demonstrate command of two commonly confused words.
Students focus on sentence structure and concentrate on the meanings of two common sound-alike words. This simple activity reinforces spelling, grammar, and listening skills and gives students an opportunity to listen for context clues.
