Engaging Learners One teacher, one school, one district at a time.
Developing, sharing and promoting strategies
Engaging Learners, LLC is a collaborative group of professional development coaches, educators, speakers, and consultants who are completely committed to the development, sharing, and promotion of strategies that develop student literacy.
That’s why we spend many days each year in grade 4-12 classrooms, working with teachers to help their students grow into productive, creative adults.
Because our work takes us into all kinds of schools (public, private, parochial; rural, urban, and suburban), we are able to complement our vast expertise with relevant and up-to-date classroom experience. Engaging Learners prides itself on providing practical, research-based solutions that classroom teachers can actually use, and that real students actually respond to.
Our decades of experience with struggling and reluctant adolescent learners indicate that these students – along with their “on-level” and gifted peers – benefit greatly from classroom strategies that both embrace their need for independence, and encourage their development of self-regulation.
You and I both know that there is no one magic spell that will address every challenge in every school. Yet I see it time and time again: when teachers are provided with professional support and team training, schools see a real difference in their classrooms and in their student literacy achievement. It's an on-going difference that benefits teachers, students, and entire communities.
